Join us for a friendly and down-to-earth tour of the region’s freshest seasonal farms growing everything from luscious fruits to scrumptious vegetables to glorious grains.

Your private farm experience includes:

● A scenic drive through rolling countryside
● Meeting growers and tour their farms (many aren’t open to the public and only available on our exclusive tours)
● Pick seasonal produce and buy direct from the farm (depending on seasonal availability)
● A picnic pack of the region’s best produce enjoyed in a scenic spot; maybe a park, on the farm or in the vineyard (we’ll select the best spot on the day and set a table)
● Afternoon tea and wine tasting of the region’s famous cool-climate wines

Depending on the season, The Farm Trail could include hazelnut farms, stone fruit orchards, a saffron farm or even Australia’s highest olive grove. We’ll always include a visit to one of our favourite vineyards too.

  Fridays or other days as a custom tour

  10 am to 4 pm

  1 to 7 guests

  Private group driving tour – enjoy the secnery and relax

  2 to 3 farm visits with tastings and tours (where available), lunch featuring local produce, wine tasting, afternoon tea, transport, local expert tour guide

Optional extra: Add on a visit to Mount Canobolas and Lake Canobolas for $35 per person (adds 1 hour to your tour)

  From $235 per person, depending on number of guests

Meet your tour guide, Nicole

Nicole Farrell is the founder of Country Food Trails and has been an Orange local for most of her life. With years of experience taking small groups on textile safaris of India and Morocco, Nicole knows how to plan a tour that's fun, flexible and filled with exciting hands-on experiences you won't find anywhere else.

A focus on sustainable agritourism

At Country Food Trails, we're committed to practising sustainable tourism and running zero waste tours. We use cloth napkins and reusable containers, cups and cutlery. And we'll happily take home food scraps to feed to our chooks.

As part of our commitment to reducing food waste, we've partnered with Love Food Hate Waste. We also contribute to Greenfleet to offset our carbon emissions.

FAQ

Can I choose which farms I want to visit?

If you have any special requests, please contact Nicole to discuss. Visits are seasonal and based on availability.

Is the cost of the farm produce included?

No. You’ll pay the grower directly for any fruit or vegetables you pick.

Can I book this tour for 2 people?

Yes. To be COVID safe, our driving tours are for private group bookings only. We can cater for any small group between 1 and 7 people. The price of your tour depends on your group size.

Is this tour suitable for children?

If you’re travelling with children, we recommend booking a custom tour so we can plan a more family-friendly experience. We’ll be glad to tailor a tour the whole family will enjoy.

Can you accommodate my food allergies?

We’ll do everything we can to ensure you can join in on the delicious delights of this tour. Please contact us to discuss your dietary needs.

Can we customise our tour?

Absolutely! We’d love to create a fun, informative, and delicious tour of Orange, tailored to your food, wine or other interests. What happens if it rains?

All tours operate rain, hail or snow, (after all it is Orange). You should dress for the day’s weather conditions. It’s impossible to cancel a tour at the last minute due to circumstances beyond our control.
