The Dalton family is deeply entwined with the history of Orange. It began with the arrival of Irishman James Dalton Senior. He arrived as a convict in the 1830s and his family built an entrepreneurial dynasty which shaped the architectural, agricultural, and retail face of Orange.
Your fully-guided walking tour will take you past historic homes and stunning country gardens. We welcome you to join us and gain an insight into Orange’s delightful and surprising past.

How much walking is involved?
The Heritage Trail takes you on a slow stroll through the historic streets of Orange, NSW. We’ll wander for about 2 to 3 hours, enjoying a local snack. Then we’ll sit down to enjoy a delicious glass of wine. If you have any concerns or questions, you can call Nicole. She’ll be glad to chat with you and help you decide if this tour suits your needs.
What if I don't drink wine?

What happens if it rains?
All tours operate rain, hail or snow, (after all it is Orange). You should dress for the day’s weather conditions. It’s impossible to cancel a tour at the last minute due to circumstances beyond our control.
